The Brand: Mother/daughter team Shelly and Mary Klein founded k studio in 2004 with a clear direction: To share Shelly’s knack of delicate linear patterns and her ever-growing menagerie of richly evocative characters with as many people as possible. Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, all of the k studio products are still made in small-batch and with great care and exact finishing. Staying true to quality and a consistent design style, k studio remains fresh and fun 20 years later.

This is one that will be around for a good long while and the waxed canvas has a sturdiness that feels really good in-hand. We love the stitching as it tells a story from the sketchbook of the artist, Shelly Klein, but also has a child-like quality that could harken back to anyone’s early drawings.
