Teardrop Earrings
The Brand: A glass blowing class at RISD 20 years ago—a diversion at the time from her focused work in illustration— is what got designer Julie Burton, the owner of verre modern, into working with what would become her favorite material. “Glass is both a liquid and a solid and that makes it special. It reacts to heat and cold. It bends to gravity and manipulation in a way that I think no other medium can do.” Julie offers her pieces in an incredible array of colors and since it is all done in glass, the color might show in opaque or translucent tones depending on the type of glass she is using. Julie believes that a simple execution tends to be the most elegant one. Of note: verre means glass in french.
Description: We have carried these easygoing pieces since the day Julie launched her brand. They are the everyday pieces you can wear and feel comfortable in and the glass itself feels wonderful in-hand. The Quarante Mini has great versatility in a dress-up or dress-down scenario. The drop is not too much of a statement.
